Our Story |
David and Flor were both never married before. They were each told by friends to lower their standards because they might not find "the perfect one" if they continued to set such high standards, but they didn't. They prayed and waited although the waiting was not that easy. They wholeheartedly believe God is a perfect matchmaker. |
David and Flor met in Orlando. The motive of meeting each other was not for dating at all. Flor wanted to meet Filipinos while David wanted to network with Filipinos on the other side of town. The first time they talked on the phone, it lasted for six(6) hours which boiled down to a common ground: to love and serve God. David invited Flor for dinner and it happened one after the other. The courtship didn't last very long because David knew in his heart, Flor was "the one". David proposed in the presence of his family on Christmas Eve of 2005 (their annual Christmas dinner at their mom's house). Flor had no clue at all of what David had planned that night. David supposedly shared a short message about Christmas but it all tied up to the proposal when he got down on one knee, showed the ring and said, "Flor, will you be my help meet, my partner in the ministry and my wife?" Flor was so surprised (tongue-tied)! She heard from David's mouth all the Scriptures she prayed for when a man proposes to her. The ring fitted perfectly (David didn't know her ring size but knew God knows)... time seemed to stand still...everyone was emotional and they both found "the one" they had long been waiting for. |
